Membership

• Honorary Members:-
  To be considered for Honorary Membership, candidates must have made exceptional contributions to the advancement of Sports Medicine and Sports Science. These contributions should be widely recognized and highly regarded within the field. The recommendation for Honorary Membership is made by the Executive Board based on the candidate's achievements and impact on the profession.
   

• Certified Professional Members:-
  Candidates who wish to become Certified Professional Members must hold the ATC (Athletic Trainer, Certified) credential. In addition, they must meet the following requirements:

  • I. Possess a recognized degree or an equivalent qualification in sports science, sports medicine, or a related field. The degree should be obtained from an accredited educational institution.

  • II. Successfully pass the accreditation examination conducted by HKATA (Hong Kong Athletic Trainers' Association). This examination assesses the candidate's knowledge and competency in the field of sports science and sports medicine.
     

• Ordinary Members:-
  To be eligible for Ordinary Membership, candidates must be actively practicing professionals in a field related to sports science, sports medicine, or an equivalent discipline. The Executive Council reviews and approves the applications for Ordinary Membership. Candidates should provide relevant documentation and demonstrate their qualifications and experience in the field.
   

• Student Members:-
  Student Membership is open to undergraduate or postgraduate students who are studying in a field related to sports science, sports medicine, or a relevant discipline. To qualify for Student Membership, candidates must provide valid documentation, such as a student ID card or proof of enrollment, to verify their current student status. Student Membership is valid for one year after graduation. After that period, students are encouraged to transition to a different membership category based on their qualifications and professional status.

Annual Membership Fee

​1. Certified Professional Member – HKD$300 per year (Details to be announced soon)

2. Ordinary Member – HKD$400 per year

3. Student Member – HKD$50 per year
